Balaghat police arrested 11 accused involved in chit fund fraud and recovered cash amounting to Rs 10 crore from their possession. In a press conference held on Tuesday, SP, Balaghat Sameer Saurabh shared details of the chit fund racket and recovery of Rs 10 crore.
SP Saurabh, addressing the press conference, informed that in CM Helpline, many complaints were received from residents of Lanji-Kirnapur about some persons luring them with offer of doubling their money. These people was were misleading people through their agents and people were falling in their trap and were losing their hard-earned money.
SP Sameer Saurabh further informed that different teams were formed including police personnel of Balaghat,
Kirnapur and Lanji police stations. These teams visited many areas and collected details from villagers. The teams found that without any legal permission or registration or any supporting documents, these persons and their agents were collecting money from villagers.
Then these fraudulent persons and their agents active in various places under jurisdiction of Lanji, Kirnapur police station, were arrested and cash of Rs 10 crore was recovered from their possession.
Police have recovered cash amount of Rs 10 crore, 16 mobiles and three vehicles from possession of the arrested accused. Some 11 accused have been arrested and three are absconding.
The arrested accused have been identified as Somendra Kankrayane, Pradeep Kankaryane, Lalit Vaishnav, Rahul Bapre, Ramchandra Kalbele , all from Bolegaon (Lanji), Tamesh Mansure, Rakesh Mansure from Konkana (Kirnapur), Ajay Tidke from Chindi Kunwa chowky, Kinhi, Kirnapur, Manoj Sonekar from Kinhi, Kirnapur and Shivjeet Chile from Dorli, Lanji.
ASP Anurag Mishra, SDOP Durgesh Armo and SHO, Lanji, Kirnapur, were also present in the press conference.
