It has been decided to conduct the final semester and the 7th semester examinations of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekanand Technical University (CSVTU), Bhilai through online mode. A notification to this effect was issued by the Registrar of the University. This decision of the university administration caused a wave of happiness on the faces of hundreds of students, for which they were fighting for the last several days.
According to the notification, BE 7th semester backlog, BE 8th semester regular and backlog, B Pharmacy 7th semester backlog, B Pharmacy 8th semester regular and backlog students appearing for the April-May 2022 examinations will be conducted online. The registrar has sent a copy of the notification to all the universities affiliated to CSVTU, deputy registrar (administration), Chief Financial Officer and all the concerned officials, including the controller of examinations. For the past several days, students led by the National Students Union of India (NSUI) had put pressure on the university administration in demand of online examination. The students mobilised for their demand and submitted a memorandum to the Registrar of CSVTU, K K Verma. In which it was emphasised that due to the effect of Corona epidemic, classes of most of the colleges were conducted through online medium. That too not at full capacity, in the six-month academic session, only two months studied was held, that too half-heartedly. Moreover, in many colleges, neither the hostel facility was restored nor the availability of faculties was ensured. Due to which studies were badly affected. After considering all these things, finally the university administration had decided to conduct the examinations through online mode.
