Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel reached Katekalyan in Dantewada district of State as part of his ongoing
‘Bhent-Mulaqat’ programme on Monday and inaugurated the new unit of Dannex Factory here.
The Chief Minister met with women making traditional ‘Dhenki’ rice and enquired about its operation.
Chief Minister inspected the new Dannex factory set up in Katekalyan and interacted with the workers engaged in the
production of garments to know about the quality of the garments.
The workers told the Chief Minister that the garments manufactured here has demand in the international markets.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed for the fifth unit of Denex Factory Chhindnar here. The MoU was signed between Dannex FPO and Export House, Tirpur in the presence of the Chief Minister. Chief Minister announced to set up a sub-station in Katekalyan to overcome the power problem. The Chief Minister inaugurated the beautification works of 143 Deogudi Complex here which has been beautified at a cost of Rs 14.30 crore. The Chief Minister gifted a shirt made in Dannex factory to Member of Parliament Deepak Baij. The Chief Minister also signed autographs for workers and staff at the Dannex factory. Dannex’-the homegrown clothing brand of Chhattisgarh’s tribal dominated Dantewada district-is all set to hit the international market. An MoU has been inked between Dannex FPO and Export House Tirupur-one of the largest wholesale unit in the country— for export of apparels made in Chhindnar, the fifth unit of Dannex. Now, apparels of this ‘desi’ brand will also be seen in the markets of US and UK. Meanwhile, in a bid to make women self-reliant and provide them with employment opportunities, Nava Dantewada Garment Factory was established in Haram Gram Panchayat falling under Chhattisgarh’s worst Maoist-hit Dantewada district. Tribal women are engaged in tailoring work manufacturing clothes under the brand name ‘Dannex’ which is an abbreviation for ‘Dantewada Next’.
