Paying tributes to the martyrs of 2013 Jhiram Ghati incident, BJP Chhattisgarh president Vishnudeo Sai said that it is unfortunate that the martyrs of Jhiram have become victims of Congress politics. The Congress and the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Government remain a hurdle before the Jhiram truth. What prevents Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel to make the Mishra Commission report public remains a mystery, said Sai.
Sai said that when the Jhiram Ghati Naxalite attack took place on May 25, 2013, there was a Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre. BJP urged for a high level inquiry into this incident following which UPA government ordered NIA probe. The BJP had urged for expediting the investigation at the earliest, but the Congress showed no interest for a year. The BJP state government in Chhattisgarh constituted a judicial commission to investigate the Jhiram Ghati case.
The report came but it was not presented in the Assembly by the Congress Government even after a lapse of more than 6 months. Instead the Bhupesh Baghel Government constituted a new inquiry commission.
When the Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik challenged the new commission in the court, Congress alleged the BJP of doing politics. The BJP wants the Mishra commission report to be made public and therefore it has moved the court. Actually, Congress does not want the truth of Jhiram to come out. The family of the martyrs of Jhiram will have to understand who is doing politics on the martyrs.
