With Chhattisgarh recording the lowest mean scores along with Telangana and Arunachal Pradesh in the National Achievement Survey (NAS) 2021 report released by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Chhattisgarh targeted the Congress government of State for the poor performance in school education. It may be mentioned, the NCERT had conducted the NAS for Classes 3,5,8,10 on Mathematics and Language subjects. It is worthwhile to mention, the mean scores are average of the total marks that all students got in the particular subject.
BJP MLA and former Minister Brijmohan Agrawal alleged that the Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has ruined the education system and it has been exposed now. The NAS 2021 has revealed the ground reality of school education
in State.
Chhattisgarh is lagging behind 30 states in the field of school education and the State Government is left with no other options, but to accept the truth, said Agrawal. The education system of State has collapsed, Agrawal said.
Agrawal, who was also the School Education Minister of State during the BJP rule, said that the present School Education Minister of State has been accused of committing corruption by his party colleagues who had even staged a demonstration outside the minister’s bungalow. When the ruling party members are not happy with their minister
then how one can expect a better environment for education in State.
Agrawal said that the Chief Minister should answer it and immediately sack the School Education Minister for poor performance. BJP state spokesperson and former school education minister Kedar Kashyap also attacked the State Government for the miserable condition of school education in Chhattisgarh. Kashyap said that during the tenure of BJP, Abdul Kalam Quality Campaign was launched to improve the quality of education, resulting in Chhattisgarh securing the 18th rank in the National Achievement Survey. After the Congress Government came, the education system has gone from bad to worse, the condition today is that the state does not find even a place in the list of 30 states. Kashyap said that the State Government is only engaged in the branding of Atmanand Schools, apart from that no attention is paid to other government schools. The future of 60 lakh children of State is in dark, and State Government is busy in its false propaganda
