A team of Pench Tiger Reserve nabbed three poachers and seized 5.30 kg bones of tiger and 2.40 kg scales of Pangolin which is Schedule-1 of endangered species on National Highway-44 in Khawasa (Buffer) area of Pench Tiger Reserve.
The arrested have been identified as Nirpat Jhanaklal Kumre (35), a resident of Jarkhadi, in Katangi, Balaghat district, Anil Roshan Warkade (35) of Potiya village, Kurai in Seoni district and Tilakchand Churaman Gond (33), a resident of MOhgavan village in Seoni district.
Pench Tiger Reserve, Deputy Director,
Rajnish Kumar Singh informed that they received information of some suspects who were
transporting wildlife on a motorcycle towards Nagpur in Maharashtra. Taking prompt action on the information, forest team started a search and trapped the three suspects on NH-44 in Khawasa (Buffer area).
In their search, forest team seized total 74 units of bones of tiger weighing around 5.3 kg and Pangolin scales weighing around 2.4 kg and a motorcycle bearing registration number MH-31CD-3336. The arrested were produced before the Seoni court and forest department has obtained their remand till May 7.
In the trap, forest team was comprised of BP Tiwari, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Seoni, Ashish Kumar Pandey, Superintendent, Pench Mowgli Sanctuary, Rahul Kumar Upadhyay, Forest Circle, Khawasa, Satiram Uike, Forest Ranger, Kailashchand Sharnagat, Forest Guard, Akash Sahu, Kapil Patel, Kamlesh Kalokar and Amit Chouhan, Beat in-charges.
