FDCM to supply 300 cu mt teakwood for Central Vista Parliament Project

Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra (FDCM) has received an order from Central Government to supply 300 cubic metres of teakwood from its Ballarshah depot, recently. The teakwood will be utilised for the construction of furniture in upcoming Parliament House - Central Vista Project in New Delhi.
Around 300 cubic metres teakwood has been purchased from FDCM depot for the work, so far. There is further demand for the quality teakwood for the project.
FDCM gets the teakwood from Allapalli forests in Gadchiroli which is the second best in the world after Burma teak.
FDCM, a commercial organisation under the Government, grows quality teakwood with grains and sells it. It feels honoured that the teakwood from its depot is being utilised for the construction of Parliament House at New Delhi.
The Ballarshah depot has sold teakwood and other forest produce worth Rs 165 crore during 2022-23. It has earned Rs 100 crore through off-line auction and received highest rate of Rs 2.71 lakh per cu mt.
