Overcast sky, gusty winds and drizzles in the evening decreased maximum temperature in city by almost 2 degrees Celsius, on Thursday. For last one week maximum temperature in Nagpur was
hovering above 45 degrees Celsius, but light rains in some parts of the city on Thursday gave some respite from scorching summer.
On Thursday, the maximum temperature of Nagpur was 42.9 degrees Celsius whereas the minimum also dropped as compared to the other days.
With the maximum temperature of 44.5 degrees Celsius, Gondia was the hottest place in Vidarbha on Thursday. Buldhana registered the lowest temperature at 39.4 degrees Celsius. There was general drop in the day temperature across the region.
Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted thunderstorm and lightning activities with light to very
light rains from June 15 to 18 in Nagpur and other places of Vidarbha.
The weather activities will further reduce the maximum temperature all over Vidarbha in coming days.
However, rains are still away from Central India as there is no backing favouring monsoon in the region.
The Weather Department has advised farmers to delay sowing process because there is a long gap between the first two spells of monsoon rains in Vidarbha.
