Taking a dig at Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, BJP National Vice-President and former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh said that the Chief Minister of the State can fly miles to stage demonstration in Delhi in support of his leader Rahul Gandhi, but he cannot tolerate the Opposition and general public raising voice against his wrong policies.
Dr Singh criticised Congress for opposing ED’s summon to Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case, for whom Congress leaders from across the country reached Delhi to oppose the action of the central agency. Dr Singh recalled the incident connected to former Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi who had twice appeared before the ED and he was made to sit for nine hours during Congress rule at Centre. Modi had not gone to ED with his supporters, said Dr Singh.
On the allegation of Centre stopping funds to Chhattisgarh under nutrition scheme meant for children, Dr Singh said that ‘Na Khata, Na Bahi, Bhupesh Jo Kahe wohi Sahi’ (no accounts of money spent on nutrition scheme what Bhupesh say is the rule). Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is unable to provide the accounts of funds spent under the nutrition scheme for children. There is doubt of corruption in the scheme and thus the Centre has stopped the fund. Once the state government clears the account, the Centre is ready to help, Dr Singh said. The former IAS Officer and BJP leader O P Choudhary is being harassed for uploading a video showing coal theft in Korba in place of action against the thieves. State government cannot tolerate voices raised against its wrong doings. Dr Singh cited incidents of Chhuria, Pakhanjur and other parts of the state where opposition leaders have been booked for raising issues in public interest. Dr Singh however said that the BJP and its organisations will continue to stage demonstrations raising issues in public interest.
