AFTER remaining trapped in the borewell for over 104 hours Rahul Sahu was rescued in what could be termed one of the biggest and most successful rescue operations launched by the Chhattisgarh state government. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister after the success of the rescue operation tweeted, that the operation was big and tough and the rescue team was also equally resolved to complete the operation successfully. 10-year-old Rahul Sahu was trapped in a borewell at village Pihrid in the JanjgirChampa district. After rescuing the child he was immediately rushed to Appollo Hospital in Bilaspur under the supervision of doctors by making a green corridor. This big operation was commanded by the NDRF team earlier under the directions of the army, but later the army jawans themselves took over the command. As per information earlier on the day, the army jawans had descended into the tunnel. After being in the tunnel for over 100 hours Rahul's condition had deteriorated but he had shown terrific guts. He was given Frooti on Tuesday morning but did not consume it. In that video, Rahul was seen raising his head and giving a response. Earlier Chief Minister had tweeted that after seeing the rescue team approaching him, Rahul was happy and had kept his eyes open. During this operation, a very surprising incident occurred a snake entered the borewell tunnel but there was no harm to Rahul. Big stones have posed hurdles in child rescue. The process was on to break them. Even during this, the Command-in-Chief of NDRF Vardhaman Mishra, engaged in the work of making a tunnel to reach Rahul, had sustained injuries. The doctor treated him on the spot and he was immediately back to work, saying that the work should not stop under any circumstances. In an effort to rescue Rahul without any harm, the tunnel digging angle has been slightly changed. A structure had been erected. Along with this, the stone under Rahul was made smooth with the vibrator so that he did not get hurt. Besides, VLC (Victim Location Camera) was also being used to trace the exact location of Rahul. The camera was inserted in a big hole made in the wall. With this special camera, sounds coming from across the wall or rocks could be easily heard. The rescue will be made easy by listening to the sound from the camera. The jawans had made necessary preparations by checking this VLC camera. Earlier, the rescue team had used a vibrator to break the rock. It is worth mentioning here that the NDRF team had completed the work of making the tunnel late at night. As Rahul was up from the position, 4 feet of digging was done from below. In this way, a big rock has come. After the drill, it will be cut manually with the help of the Victim Location Camera. Meanwhile, it is learnt that teams from BSP and Balco have also reached the spot to lend help to the rescue mission. On the other hand, all possible preparations have been made to give Rahul emergency care. Doctors and the medical teams are standing on alert. The entire state was praying for his well-being. Puja and havan are being performed for Rahul at different places in the state. It may be mentioned On June 10, Rahul fell into an 80-feet deep abandoned borewell located in the backyard of his house at village Pihrid in Janjgir-Champa district. Hearing the cries of the boy, family members learnt about the incident and thereafter, the district administration and police were alerted about the incident. Launching a massive campaign for the safe rescue of Rahul, more than 500 persons including the personnel of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the army and others, have been roped in for the rescue operation
