BJP declares Mayor’s posts candidates for Indore, Ratlam, Gwalior

State unit of Bharatiya Janata Party announced candidates for Indore and Ratlam mayor’s posts on Wednesday. Pushaymitra Bhargav and Prahlad Patel will contest from Indore and Ratlam respectively.
Later in the evening, State General Secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party informed that party’s State Election Committee has given approval to the name of Suman Sharma for Mayor’s post candidate for Gwalior Municipal Corporation.
Meanwhile, delay has occurred as Bhargav had to resign from the post of Additional Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh. In the morning, he resigned from the post.
For Ratlam Municipal Corporation and Jaora Municipality, Namli Municipal Council, Piploda Municipal Council, Barawada and Dhamnod Municipal Council polling will take place in second phase on July 13. While, voting for Indore will be in first phase on July 6. Bhagwan Das Sabnani, General Secretary of BJP State Unit, released a statement on Wednesday stating “Election committee has given consent to the names of Pushaymitra Bhargav for Mayor’s post of Indore and Prahlad Patel’s name as Mayor candidate for Ratlam for the upcoming civic body elections.”
Out of 16 municipal corporations, BJP has declared names of all the 16 mayoral candidates. Nomination papers will be received till June 18. Scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on June 20 while the last date of withdrawal of name is be June 22.
