Amid recent incidents of crimes reported across Chhattisgarh, Director General of Police (DGP) Ashok Juneja on Wednesday chaired a meeting to review the law and order situation along with the efforts being made to control the crimes.
Chairing the meeting through a video conference, the police chief gave specific directives to the Superintendents of Police (SPs) to take prompt action against people indulged in body offence, crime against women and children and property related offences. The meeting was attended by all range IGs and SPs. Meanwhile, the DGP took stock of action being taken against the directors of chitfund companies and ensured the return of deposited money to victims. Moreover, Juneja also instructed officials to launch a massive campaign against people indulged in illegal business of narcotics, those indulged in theft, burglaries, loot, knifing and other crimes. The police chief also directed SPs to launch a crackdown against gambling, satta and bootlegging. Taking stock of the law and order situation across the state, DGP Juneja asked all the SPs to take necessary moves for maintaining social harmony. The meeting was attended by Additional Director General of Police (ADG) Vivekananda Sinha, ADG Himanshu Gupta, IG (Intelligence) Dr Anand Chhabra and other officials.
