Seven persons, including a child, were killed in a horrific road accident on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday near Kondamau village under jurisdiction of the Umranala police station of the district. Members of a family were returning from a marriage function from village Bhajipani. Near Kondamau, a bike rider came in front of the jeep. The driver lost control and the jeep fell down in the well at the road side. Seven persons sitting in Bolero died on-the-spot. Three others were injured in this accident and are undergoing treatment in the hospital. A child is also among the deceased. The deceased have been identified as Dippu alias Dipendra Ivnati (3), resident Lendagondi, Ajay (32), son of Valwan Ivnati, resident Lendagondi, Sachin (19), son of Ramdin resident of Dhanora police station Devlapar Nagpur, Rajkumar (40), son of Sukhram Chaure, resident of Agarpur police station, Bithua, Sagar alias Shivpal (31), son of Mangal resident of Jamuniya Bichhua, Ranjit (35), son of Bistu Uike, resident of Lendagondi and Ramnath, son of Dadulal Inwati Karmajhiri police station, Kurai. According to information, the marriage party has reached from the residence of Samera Salame, a resident of Khamarpani, to the house of Sukhram Bhalavi, who lives in village Bhajipani. During the night after the rituals concluded, at around 2 am, some family members of the groom’s family decided to return to Khamarpani. The jeep vehicle was passing near Kondamau village, when suddenly a bike rider came in front of it. While trying to save him, the driver lost control and the Bolero veered off the road and fell into a well on the side. In the accident, a woman and a child who were riding pillion on the nike were also injured and are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital. Umranala Police Chowky In-charge, Kavita Patle, who was on night patrol, reached the spot as soon as she got the information. Police personnel from Mohkhed Station In-charge also reached the spot. Police started rescue operation to rescue the passengers of the Bolero who were stuck inside the well with the help of villagers. By the time the four-wheeler was pulled out, seven people were found dead. Injured were sent to the district hospital.
