AJNI Police arrested a goon planning to commit some major crime and seized a country-made pistol and four live cartridges collectively valued at Rs 26,200 from his possession. Identified as Shailendra alias Sanu Jainarayan Shukla (30), the accused is a native of village Koyalikhapa, taluka Baihar, district Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh. He was presently putting up on the third floor of Roy General Stores’ building, Kukde Layout, Ajni.
On Monday night, a police patrol party was checking the criminals on record. One of the police infomers told the patrolling team that an anti-social carrying a firearm was planning to commit a major crime near Chimni Chowk, near Thawre High School. On the basis of the information, cops laid a trap and nabbed Shailendra. During his physical search, police found a pistol having 18 cm barrel and four live rounds with him. Cops seized the pistol and cartridges and took him into custody.
Cops arrested him on charges under Sections 3 +25 of the Arms Act, read with 135 of Maharashtra Police Act, and obtained remand for his custodial interrogation till June 19.
The arrest was made by officiating Senior PI Sandeep Buwa, HC Bandu Kalambe, HC Khemraj Patil, NPC Avinash Thakur, NPC Atul Dawande, PC Roshan Wadibhasme and PC Hansraj Pauljhagade under the supervision of DCP (Zone-IV) Noorul Hasan and ACP Ganesh Biradar.
