Anjana Yadav, a mountaineer from Semri, a small village in Salamatpur in Raisen district, has once again braved the height of the Himalayas with her own courage. This time Anjana, continuing her mountaineering journey, has scaled the 16,500 feet high Rhenock peak of the Himalayan range of Sikkim. One month training was organised at Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, Darjeeling. Total 66 participants from across the country participated in this training. Out of which only 45 got success. Anjana Yadav represented Raisen and the State achieved success and brought pride to the State.
Beginning the journey of conquering Rhenock Peak by undergoing training in rock climbing, rappelling, ice ex-climbing, rescue techniques, self-arrest, group arrest, etc. at the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute. She initially climbed 22 km of Tiger Hill. After the ascent of Tiger Hill, she proceeded towards Yuksom Peak and reached an altitude of 9,000 feet after travelling 7 hours continuously with a weight of 18 kg during Bakhim Trek from the entry point of Kanchenjunga.
From here, she reached Chori-Khang at 14,600 feet after a difficult trek of eight consecutive hours in the snowfall of the Djongri Himalayan range at an altitude of 13,218 feet. After this, in the heavy snowfall of Rathong Glacier, continuing the climb under adverse conditions, she climbed the Rhenok Peak, reaching where Anjana hoisted the tricolour. Anjana Yadav is a resident of Semri, a small village in Raisen district. She had earlier made the entire State proud by hoisting the tricolour at Yunam Peak 20,000 feet in Himachal Pradesh on August 15. Along with this, she has also conquered Friendship Peak, Patalsu Peak etc. Anjana credits her success to her father Azad Singh Yadav and her family.
