‘Medical College will be established in BMHRC’

“A medical college will be established in Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre (BMHRC),” announced Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya during his visit to Bhopal on Sunday. He reached BMHRC and took stock of arrangements along with Medical Education and Gas Relief-Rehabilitation Minister Vishwas Sarang, Health Minister Dr Prabhuram Choudhary besides top officials of the Health Department were also with him.
Along with inspecting the hospital, the Union Health Minister discussed with the officials and doctors about the problems of the hospital.
During this, discussions were also held about the problems being faced due to shortage of doctors in the hospital.
After this, Health Minister Mandaviya inspected Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology (CIPET) and AIIMS. Meets gas victims Union Health Minister Dr Mansukh Mandaviya met representatives of gas victim organisations at Bhopal Memorial Hospital. Tributes were paid to civilians who died in the gas tragedy. He joined the Red Cross Society in Bhopal, MP and participated in welcome and felicitation function organised by the State Branch, Bhopal. Under the leadership of the Union Health Minister, arrangements of Bhopal Memorial Hospital and Research Centre were inspected. MP Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang was also present. Earlier, the Union Health Minister attended a programme organised on World Sickle Cell Day in Jabalpur.
Governor Mangubhai Patel, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and State Health Minister Dr Prabhuram Choudhary also participated in this State-level programme.
After this he left from Jabalpur and reached Bhopal at around 1 pm. Party workers including Medical Education Minister Vishwas Sarang received him warmly at the State hangar.
This is Minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s first visit to BMHRC and AIIMS. He was at AIIMS from 5 pm to 8 pm. During this, along with inspecting the hospital, he held a meeting with officials and also met office-bearers of Faculty Association and Resident Doctors Association.
Preparations were going on in AIIMS after the Minister’s visit was fixed three days ago. Special care is being taken for cleanliness in the hospital. Besides this, the minister held a meeting with the AIIMS officials in the board room.
