RAIPUR,
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has written a letter to Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, requesting him for ensuring regular supply of petrol and diesel to Chhattisgarh.
In the letter, Chief Minister Baghel drew attention of Union Minister of Petroleum and Diesel Puri about the problems being faced by the shortage of petrol and diesel in the depots of all petroleum companies in Chhattisgarh.
Since the last one-two months, the supply of petrol and diesel has reduced in the state and because of it, the petrol pumps in many districts are becoming dry. Chhattisgarh Petroleum Dealers Welfare Association has also informed that M/s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited has 750 retail outlets in Chhattisgarh, in which there is a shutdown situation for many days due to non-regular supply of petrol and diesel.
It has been found in the review of petroleum companies that earlier the buffer stock used to last for 4-5 days, since last 1-2 months the buffer stock is left for only one day, which is getting exhausted many times and the depot gets dry, said Baghel in the letter.
The Chief Minister mentioned in the letter that Chhattisgarh is an agricultural state and agricultural work is in progress due to the arrival of monsoon. Farmers in the state are facing problems due to non-availability of diesel. Due to scarcity of diesel and petrol in rural areas, the essential service, ambulance transport and general public are facing difficulties.
Due to scarcity of diesel and petrol regularly, agricultural work is badly hitting in the state. Common people will have to suffer financial loss. Diesel and petrol are not being supplied to the retail outlets in rural areas of the state even after making advance payment, reads the letter.
Chief Minister Baghel has requested Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri to take seriously this problem and ensure regular supply of petrol and diesel to the depots of M/s Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, M/s Bharat Petroleum and M/s Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in Chhattisgarh so that farmers and common man could not face problem
