Monsoon has gained momentum in Madhya Pradesh. Along with Bay of Bengal, it has now come on track due to intensifying monsoon activities in Arabian Sea as well. Due to its effect, it is raining in most parts of Bhopal, Jabalpur, Sagar division for 3 days. Monsoon will become fully active in these areas in next two days.
On Sunday morning as well, there was light rainfall in Bhopal and Indore. On the other hand, it rained in Rewa, Rajgarh and Raisen. According to the Meteorological Department, monsoon will become fully active in Indore by June 21, in Gwalior till June 24 and till June 28 in the State capital.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to continuous winds coming from Pakistan, monsoon of Arabian Sea was stuck in Betul and Khandwa. There will be a break in winds coming from Pakistan from Sunday. Due to this monsoon of Arabian Sea will also start gaining momentum. During next 48 hours, due to increasing activity in Bay of Bengal and Arabian Sea, there will be thunderstorm across the State.
4-year-old kid dies due to lightning strike
A four-year-old child died after being struck by lightning at 4 pm on Sunday in Amargarh under Suthalia police station area of Rajgarh district. The child was going with his parents and all of a sudden it started raining.
Everyone stood under the tree to avoid heavy rains. During this suddenly power went out and lightning struck and the child died on the spot after getting hit by lightning.
Heavy rain witnessed around Bhopal
From Saturday night to Sunday morning, the maximum amount of water fell in Jabalpur district i.e. up to one-and-a-half inches. During this time one-and-a-half inches of rain fell in Deora in Singrauli, 1 inch each in Damoh and Mandla districts. Rainfall also continued in Matiyari, Narmadapuram, Ashoknagar, Shahdol, Rajgarh, Katni, Shivpuri, Shahdol, Guna, Balaghat, Umaria, Guna, Shivpuri, Bhopal, Sagar and Khajuraho areas of Mandla.
Talking about the last twenty-four hours, the highest ever 5 inches of rain was recorded in Ranjhi of Jabalpur. Water fell up to 4 inches in Khandwa, Vidisha, Anuppur and Balaghat. Raisen, Betul, Sheopur, Narmadapuram, Shivpuri and Sagar received 3 inches each, Ashoknagar, Dewas, Burhanpur, Singrauli, Damoh, Katni, Shahdol, Chhindwara, Seoni, Chhatarpur and Narsinghpur received 2 inches of rain. Harda, Ujjain, Morena, Rajgarh, Gwalior, Guna, Sehore, Dhar, Barwani, Khargone, Shajapur, Indore, Bhopal and Jhabua also received rainfall.
Heavy rain alert in 13 districts
Meteorological Department has issued an alert of heavy rain in 13 districts of Madhya Pradesh. Chhindwara, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Betul, Khargone, Jhabua, Ratlam, Dindori, Anuppur, Mandla, Rajgarh, Neemuch and Mandsaur may receive heavy rainfall at isolated places with strong winds till Monday morning. winds may occur at isolated places in Bhopal, Indore, Shahdol, Sagar, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Gwalior, Chambal, Rewa and Ujjail divisions. Strong winds uproot trees at many places
Strong winds accompanied by strong showers uprooted trees at many places including Guna, Morena, Sheorpur Kalan and Balaghat. In the last few days, more than 6 people have died due to lightning in Shajapur, Ashoknagar, Guna, Balaghat and Anuppur, same number of people have been scorched.
