According to information received till 8 pm on Sunday, 197 nomination papers were received for the post of Mayor in urban body election-2022. This includes nomination papers of 108 men, 88 women and one other candidate. For the post of Corporator, 34,314 nomination papers have been received of which 16,389 are men, 17,919 are women and 6 of other candidates.
Secretary of State Election Commission Rakesh Singh has informed that for the post of Mayor, 9 nomination papers have been submitted in Morena Municipal Corporation, 12 in Gwalior, 11 in Sagar, 15 in Satna, 14 in Rewa, 15 in Singrauli, 14 in Katni, 17 in Jabalpur, 13 in Chhindwara, 12 in Bhopal, 5 in Dewas, 8 in Khandwa, 8 in Burhanpur, 22 in Indore, 9 in Ujjain and 13 in Ratlam.
For the post of Corporator, 370 nominations have been submitted in Bhopal district, 340 in Sheopur, 921 in Morena, 1,279 in Bhind, 1,142 in Gwalior, 406 in Datia, 1,119 in Shivpuri, 781 in Guna, 745 in Ashoknagar, 1307 in Sagar, 971 in Tikamgarh, 1594 in Chhatarpur, 669 in Damoh, Panna 410, Satna 1315, Rewa 1125, Sidhi 244, Singrauli 262, Shahdol 555, Anuppur 451, Umaria 398, Katni 445, Jabalpur 1,054, Balaghat 415, Seoni 442, Narsinghpur 507, 906 in Chhindwara, 10 in Betul, 372 in Harda, 870 in Narmadapuram, 933 in Raisen, 724 in Vidisha, 888 in Sehore, 1350 in Rajgarh, 651 in Agar-Malwa, 482 in Shajapur, 635 in Dewas, 338 in Khandwa, 336 in Burhanpur, 653 in Khargone, 160 in Barwani, 93 in Jhabua, 144 in Dhar, 1,140 in Indore, 1,155 in Ujjain, 804 in Ratlam, 941 in Mandsaur, 1,060 in Neemuch district and 402 in Niwari district.
Nomination papers received online: So far in the urban body elections, 3 candidates have submitted online nomination papers for the post of mayor and 2036 for the post of corporator. Scrutiny of nomination papers on June 20. The scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on June 20. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is June 22 (up to 3 pm). The election symbols will be allotted to candidates on the same day. The first phase of polling will be held on July 6 and the second phase will be held on July 13 from 7 am to 5 pm. The first phase of counting and declaration of results will be held on July 17 and the second phase of counting and results will be announced on July 18 at 9 am. The election will be held in 347 urban bodies which includes 16 Municipal Corporations, 76 Nagar Palika Parishads and 255 Nagar Parishads.
