Congress staged a sit-in-protest against the Agnipath scheme and the action of the ED on Rahul Gandhi at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Monday. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel also joined the protest along with senior Congress leaders and workers.
Addressing the dharna, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Baghel said that the central Government will have to withdraw the Agnipath scheme.
He said that the central government is behaving disgracefully with those who protect the borders of India. He alleged that the future of the youth, the country’s border and security are in danger with this scheme. He alleged that the central government wants to make everyone chowkidar (watchman). Along with this, Baghel raised questions on the Central Government on the action of ED in the National Herald case.
He said that Rahul Gandhi raised his voice against inflation, unemployment and Rafale scam, this is the reason why the Central Government wants to crush his voice. BJP wants to weaken the Congress by trying to defame Rahul Gandhi through ED. He said that the only objective of BJP is to silence the voice which has become the voice of the oppressed people of the country.
