POLICE arrested six while the two including the prime accused are still at large in the case of brutal killing of a history sheeter, reported from Camp-1, Bhilai. The brutal killing was the outcome of old enmity among the accused and the victim, the police said.
As per police the six accused arrested in the case were identified as Josh Abraham alias Sona, Aman Bharti alias Ganeshwar, Biselal Bharti alias Chhotu, Bhpendra Sahu and Nikhil Sahu, all residents of Camp-1, Bhilai; Preetam Singh alias Pintu, a resident of Supela, Bhilai while the prime accused named as Lokesh Pandey and Nikhil Angle alias Chiku, both residents of Camp-1, Bhilai are absconding. The police said that the victim in the case was identified as Ranjeet Singh (21), a resident of J P Nagar, Camp-II, Bhilai.
While citing confession of the accused and facts
recorded in the course of investigation, the police said that after learning about the
presence of the victim Ranjeet Singh with his friends Shubhdeep Singh and Peter alias Bachhava at Sai Nagar,
Bhilai, the prime accused Lokesh Pandey along with seven accomplices armed with baseball bats and knives immediately reached the place and attacked Ranjeet Singh while inflicting grievous injuries upon him. In the meantime Peter and Shubhdeep Singh managed to flee the spot. After committing gory crime the accused assailants fled the spot while leaving the profusely bleeding victim. The police also said that the accused and victims in the case are habitual offenders and criminal cases including loots, attempt to murder, criminal assaults etc are pending against them at various police stations. Acting on the line of Uttar Pradesh police, Durg police in coordination with the district administration and corporation concerned also got razed down unauthorized extended construction at the shops of the prime accused identified as Lokesh Pandey in Ramnagar, Bhilai. The police also paraded the six accused of brutal killing with blackened faces in the area following their arrest. Talking to media persons, Dr Abhishek Pallava, Superintendent of Police said that on information of gory crime the police teams launched a massive hunt and succeeded in rounding up six out of eight accused involved in the crime within twenty four hours from the occurrence. The victims and accused in the case are of criminal background and as per the fact finding investigation the brutal killing was outcome of old enmity and dominance. The police are on lookout and constantly working on inputs for nabbing the prime accused in the case Lokesh Pandey and the accomplice Nikhil Angle alias Chiku. The conspiracy of eliminating the victim was hatched in the shops of the accused Lokesh Pandey in Ramnagar, Bhilai and after committing heinous offence the accused have also dumped the weapons in these shops in Ramnagar, Bhilai which the police recovered on instances of the accused. To the query that whether police will opt for razing down illegal construction and encroachments by the accused of heinous offences as came to light in this case, SP Dr Pallava replied that in such cases the police would initiate measures in co-ordination with the district administration.
