MSEDCL’s 150 charging stations for e-vehicles to come up in city

As number of electric vehicles on city roads is increasing steadily, Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) is taking steps to boost charging stations and one such station is already set up in city.
The extra space at existing sub-stations is being utilised to establish the sub-stations. Works on two sub-stations in Amravati and six more in Nagpur are under progress as people are preferring electric vehicles that are being touted as answer to cut down the emissions from traditional fuels.
State Government has already finalised comprehensive plans for increasing the charging station numbers and as per it in city alone 150 stations are going to be provided.
As per one estimate, nearly 30 per cent of all vehicles sale by end of current decade in country will be electric one and hence from that angle plans are afoot to step-up charging facilities.
Similarly, all the highways, including, Samruddhi Mahamarg, Nasik-Pune, Pune-Mumbai highways will be
dotted with charging stations so that commuters do not face trouble during their long rides. So far 13 charging stations have been set-up across the State and 2,375 stations planning is currently on.
At Amravati in near future 30 charging stations are going to come-up and at most places sites are also finalised.
MSEDCL stated that 49 stations are going to be ready in near future. The break of proposed charging stations for electric vehicle city wise is as follows - Mumbai - 1,500, Pune city-500, Nasik city - 100, Aurangabad city - 75,
