Powerlifter Shailendra Sevatiya and Tushar Kadam of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, performing their best clinched gold and silver medals respectively in Senior Asian Powerlifting Competition held in Coimbatore from June 17 to 21. Shailendra Sevatiya was given Best Lifter (second runner-up) Award in the competition.

Both the players are taking training in Mantralaya Sports Club, Bhopal. All the members of Mantralaya Sports Club, office-bearers of Sports Associations and sports lovers greeted both the players on their achievement.

Shailendra Sevatiya performing well in 74 kg category participated in Squad Event and lifted 280 kg weight, 185 kg in bench press and 275 kg in deadlift. Sevatiya bagged gold medal by lifting 740 kg weight in all.

Tushar Kadam participated in 66 kg category in the competition and he lifted 240 kg in squad event, 155 kg in bench press and 230 kg in deadskit event and by lifting 625 kg weight won silver medal in the event.
