COVID-19: Distt registers 95 new single-day cases

Situation on the novel coronavirus pandemic front is becoming grim in Nagpur district as 95 new single-day cases were registered on Thursday. Nagpur rural reported 44 new cases while 55 persons tested positive for the novel coronavirus in city. With these the number of cumulative positive cases reached 5,78,581 in the district.
With 41 persons becoming free from COVID-19 infection in the district, the number of cumulative recovery reached 5,67,893. Despite fluctuations in the single-day COVID-19 cases, the district continues to maintain the recovery rate of 98.21%. Rise in the cases is having cascading effect on the active cases that rose to 350. On Wednesday, the number of active cases had gone below 300. This may make the civic administration worry.
There was no death due to COVID-19 registered in the district. Of the active cases, seven persons were being treated at hospitals.
Of the seven persons hospitalised, three are receiving treatment at Meditrina Hospital while one each is admitted to Government Medical College and Hospital, Seven Star Hospital, Railway Hospital and Kingsway Hospital.
The district reported a sudden rise in COVID-19 testing as 2,915 persons gave their swab samples on Thursday. Nagpur rural reported 601 testing while city registered 2,314 testing taking the number of cumulative testing to 54,54,727.
