Kidnapped 4-yr-old girl rescued within one hour

The Butibori MIDC police rescued a four-year-old girl, who was kidnapped by two youths, within one hour. The kidnappers had demanded Rs seven lakh ransom for the girl’s safety, police said.
The arrested accused have been identified Akash Mahesh Sonwane (19), a resident of Ganeshpur and Sanket Mahadev Thakre (22), a resident of Tembhari.
According to police, complainant Prafull Thaware, a resident of Bharkas village, was working in a company as a supervisor where Akash was working as a labourer.
On Thursday night, Prafulla’s wife was busy cooking at home and the girl was playing alone in the courtyard. Akash entered the house and took the girl with him on the pretext of giving her a chocolate, said police.
When Akash did not return home with the girl, the mother suspected something amiss and alerted her husband. Meanwhile, Prafulla received a ransom call on his mobile phone in which Sanket demanded Rs seven lakh from him for the safety of the girl. He also threatened to kill the child, police said.
Prafulla immediately rushed to the police station and narrated the incident to Police Inspector Ashok Koli.
At the same time, Prafulla again received a ransom call from Akash who asked him to reach Dongargaon with
the cash. The father and police team started following the location of the accused and nabbed them from Dongargaon area and rescued the girl, said police.
An offence under provisions of Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered by MIDC Butibori police and arrested the accused. Under the guidance of SP Vijay Magar, Addl SP Rahul Maknikar, SDPO Puja Gaikwad, the arrest was made by PI Ashok Koli, PSI Rameshwar Rai and staff includign Iqbal Sheikh, Prafull Rathod, Kishore Dekate, Ramesh Nagre, Bhaskar Metkar, Deep Pande, Pravin Siram, Amol Kothewar, Roshan Bawne, Vandana Sarwe, Sushma Dhanukar, Cyber Cell’s Satish Rathod have made the arrest. SP Magar felicitated PI Koli and his team for the detection.
