The negligence of a truck driver on the Gwalior-Shivpuri highway proved dear to three members of a family, including mother and son. In the Ghatigaon area on the highway, the driver of a speeding truck suddenly applied the brakes in the middle of the road, the WagonR car coming from behind became uncontrollable until the car driver apply the brakes, the car rammed into the truck. In this horrific
accident, two people died on the spot, while an elderly woman died in the hospital. An IES officer in the car is seriously injured, who is being treated at a private hospital in Gwalior.
SHO of Ghatigaon Shailendra Singh Gurjar said that Bhagwati Bansal, a resident of Mayur Nagar, Gwalior Thatipur, was an electrical supplier and contractor. He also had a contract to lay cables. He has a shop in Daulatganj by the name of Tirupati Construction. His maternal brother Ashok Rai Bansal is a resident of Ekta Colony, NayaPura Bhopal and used to work with him. Bhagwati’s younger brother Manoj Kumar Singhal is an IES officer and is in the Department of Telecom.
His posting is presently in Bhopal. On Wednesday, Bhagwati and Ashok went to Bhopal for business related work. In the night itself, these people were returning to Gwalior. With them Manoj and mother Vidyadevi also left for Gwalior.
On the intervening night of Wednesday-Thursday, the car was passing near Sirsa village located in Ghatigaon on Gwalior-Shivpuri highway. A truck was driving in front of them. The truck driver suddenly applied the brakes of the truck. As soon as the brakes were applied, the car got out of control and hit the truck from behind. Ashok and Bhagwati, who were driving the car, died on the spot, while Vidya Devi and Manoj were severely injured. Vidya Devi died in the hospital. Manoj has been admitted to a private hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The bodies of the deceased were sent to the post-mortem house. The police conducted the post-mortem of the bodies in the afternoon, after which they were handed over to the relatives. An FIR has been registered against the truck driver, as the accident happened due to his negligence. The last rites were performed on Thursday itself.
