With the continuous efforts of an effective and cohesive team of Medical and Health services of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant, the Medical fraternity has administered COVID vaccine doses to employees and their dependants, ex-employees, frontline workers and employees at Mines.
The Vaccination drive achieved a landmark figure of a total of one lakh vaccinations, which have been successfully and safely administered with beneficiary Suman Binayke on Wednesday. Suman received the exceptional 1,00,000th
dose in sequential vaccination series. Covid vaccination drive was started at JLN Hospital and RC of SAIL-Bhilai Steel Plant on January 25, 2021 in the first phase. India started its first mass-vaccination program on January 18 2021.
The landmark 1 lakh vaccination dose was administered on June 8, 2022 under the leadership of Anirban Dasgupta, Director I/c, Bhilai Steel Plant in collaboration with Corporate Office and Central and State Government Officials.
The Medical team worked under the guidance of Dr Sanjeev Issar, ED (M and HS), Dr. Ravindranath M, CMO, and Dr Pramod Binayke, CMO.
JLNH Vaccination Coordination Team constitutes of Dr Sambita Panda (Addl CMO), Dr Subodh Saha (Addl CMO) and Dr N S Thakur (Addl CMO), who were instrumental in the successful implementation of the vaccination drive with their consistent efforts and presented a novel
illustration of addressing the optimal planning of COVID-19 vaccine supply chains and the availability of vaccines at vaccination centers.
Shahid Ahmed (GM – Maintenance), Balvir Singh (GM – Admin), Preeti Bhatnagar (GM- Medical Procurement), B R Dhoke (Senior Manager), L V Ratnam (AM), Lakhan Yadav and Dipti Mohinish helped in uninterrupted supply, documentation and sustenance of Covid vaccine programme. Dr Nootan Verma, Dr Kaushik Kishore
and Dr Mala Choudhary in a coordinated, committed phased manner effectively undertook the execution of Covid Vaccination for Age Group 12-14 years School Children at Immunization Centers along with Sisters Reena Janghel , Chintamani Sahu, Lovely Sibhu, Meenakshi Sona, Christina Das and Vishakha Dewangan. Department of Pediatrics and Pediatric DNBs immensely contributed for the successful execution of the Program. So far total 44815 first doses, 45283 second dose and 9902 precaution dose of Covishield, Covaxin and Corbevax have been administered
