TANAY Bansod has been selected in the Indian roller hockey team for the World Skate Games 2022 going to be held from October 24-November 14 in Buenos Aires and San Juan, Argentina, informs. Dr Upendra Varma, Secretary, Nagpur District Roller Skating Association (NDRSA) through a press release.
Son of Ashish and Surekha, Tanay is a registered skater of Nagpur District Roller Skating Association has participated in State Championship under the Skating Association of Maharashtra and School Games Federation of India (SGFI).
Tanay is a student of Jyotiba College of Physical Education who has also represented Maharashtra in 11 Roller Skating Nationals under the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) and SGFI in various Roller Hockey National Championships. He participated fourteen times in State Championships and has won eight gold, three silver and three bronze medals in total.
Tanay has been training under Dr Varma (national referee) since last 13 years.
His mentors are mother Surekha Bansod and Dr Vijay Datarkar, Principal, JCPE.
Baba Deshpande and Sunil Shirsikar (Founder Member), President Shabbir Vali, Chairman Anil Bobde, Vice-President Adv Sachin Sambre, Dr Varma, Swapnil Samarth and all the committee members of Nagpur District Roller Skating Association congratulated Tanay for his selection in the Indian team.
