“Life is precious, we should leave no stone unturned for the safety of life in the event of a disaster,” said Home Minister Dr Narottam Mishra on Monday. The Home Minister gave these instructions while reviewing the management works of the State Disaster Emergency Response Force and Home Guards. He said that in case of emergency, the entire system should be ensured to function properly. People get the necessary help promptly at the right time. Make maximum use of modern technology in the safety of people’s life and property in case of emergency. Earlier, he visited the State Command Center at Home Guard Headquarters with DG Home Guard Pawan Kumar Jain and Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr Rajesh Rajoura.
Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Dr Rajesh Rajoura apprised Dr Mishra about the activities of the Center during the inspection. He informed that through the Disaster Warning and Response System app, information in case of disaster in the state is being collected promptly and relief arrangements are being made in a better way. He informed that the Dam Observation Post has been constituted for monitoring of dams in all the districts.Director General (Home Guard), Civil Defence and Disaster Management Services Pawan Kumar Jain informed that 280 Disaster Response Centres have been constituted keeping in view the sensitivity of disaster prone areas of all the districts of the state. A total of 96 quick response teams have been constituted in the state including all the district home guard headquarters. Apart from this, 19 reserve teams have also been kept. In these, 5-5 teams have been kept in Jabalpur and Bhopal, 2-2 in Indore, Gwalior, one reserve team each in Ujjain, Rewa, Sagar, Shahdol and Narmadapuram. Emergency Operation Centres have also been set up at all district headquarters. For flood and rescue, 276 rescue boats, 98 inflatable rubber boats, 231 out boat motors, 3218 lifebuoy rings and 6130 life jackets have been arranged. Instructions have been given to take the services of drones from the drone service provider agencies at the divisional and district level. State Level Disaster Control Room: To deal with disasters, work is being done in 3 shifts of 8-8 hours in the State Level Disaster Control Room. Two toll free numbers 1070 and 1,079 have been issued from the state level, on which information can be given in case of disaster.
