Over 14,808 acres land of Ordnance Factories transferred to Defence PSUs in Madhya Pradesh

Land record of above 14,808 acres land of Ordnance Factories has been transferred from President of India to Defence PSUs in Madhya Pradesh. These lands belong to six Ordnance Factories i.e. Ordnance Factory Khamaria (4921-acre), Gun Carriage Factory (1172-acres), Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (1087-acres), Grey Iron Foundry (54-acres), Ordnance Factory Katni (398-acres) and Ordnance Factory Itarsi (6626-acres).
Director General Defence Estate (Lands), Ministry of Defence had conducted a survey for identification of defence estate lands in Ordnance Factories under erstwhile Ordnance Factory Board (OFB). Thereafter, DGDE’s assigned its representatives Directorate of Ordnance (Coordination and Services), DoO (C&S) as signing authority to transfer the land records from President of India to 7 Defence PSUs in the country.
In such pursuance, Hemant Kumar Paikra, Director, Defence Field Units, Jabalpur was nominated for signing authority on behalf of DoO to handover the lands of OFK, GCF, GIF, VFJ, OF Katni and OF Itarsi in presence of Defence Estate Officers to the Defence PSUs of respective factories. 
In the process, approx 65,222-acres lands of 41 Ordnance Factories were transferred to 7 Defence PSUs include Munitions India Limited (MIL), Armoured Vehicles Nigam Limited (AVANI), Advanced Weapons and Equipment India Limited (AWE India), Troop Comforts Limited (TCL), Yantra India Limited (YIL), India Optel Limited (IOL) and Gliders India Limited (GIL).
Land transfer process was successfully completed a few days back to six Ordnance Factories in Madhya Pradesh.
