Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police nabbed two accused involved in two loot incidents and recovered a gold chain, 7 mobile handsets worth Rs 1.50 lakh and a scooter from them. The arrested have been identified as Addu alias Altmas (23), son of Mohammed Abid, resident of behind Narsingh Mandir in Madan Mahal and Aslam Ansari (42), son of Majeed Ansari, resident of Babatola in Hanumantal.
Additional SP (City South/Crime), Sanjay Kumar Agrawal disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Tuesday.
ASP, Agrawal informed that investigating two loot cases reported on the same day with same modus operandi at Mahanadda and Katanga areas, on July 5. Taking a serious note into the cases, Superintendent of Police Siddharth Bahuguna constituted a combined team of Crime Branch and Gorakhpur police under the supervision of Additional SP (South/Crime), Sanjay Kumar Agrawal and CSP, Gorakhpur, Pratistha Rathore.
Investigating the cases, police found a suspected man on the basis of CCTV footages named Addu alias Altmas and detained him for further investigation. In the interrogation, the accused confessed to chain-snatching and mobile loot cases in Gorakhpur and gave it to his accomplice named Aslam Ansari for selling and six looted mobile handsets and placed a looted mobile handset and gold chain at his house.
On his identification, police retrieved a gold chain and a mobile handset from his residence and nabbed another accused Aslam Ansari and seized six looted mobile handsets from him and registered a case against him under Sections 41(1-4) of CrPC and Section 392 of IPC. ASP Agrawal informed that arrested Addu alias Altmas is a habitual looter and already booked in eight crime cases include four loot, two theft and an Arms Act cases and a loot incident is under consideration in Gorakhpur.
The accused were arrested with active working of police team led by SHO, Gorakhpur, SPS Baghel comprised of SI, Brajbhan Singh, SI, Kaushal Kishore Samadhia, Crime Branch’s ASI, Virendra Singh, ASI, Ajay Pandey, Head Constable, Rakesh Bahadur, Bramhaprakash Mishra, Neeraj Tiwari, Sadiq Ali, Constables, Prakash Tiwari and Ranjit Yadav.
