Sumit Singh Thakur has brought laurels to the city with bagging gold medal in the National Powerlifting Championship organised at Hyderabad recently.

Representing Madhya Pradesh Powerlifting team in this national level competition, Sumit has lifted 700 kilogram weight. Before this achievement, no player from Jabalpur has made this feat in the Junior National level Championship.

On the occasion, Association President Kamlesh Agrawal has presented garlands and shawl to Sumit and Mohneesh Chakrawarti, bronze medallist in the International Sub Junior Brench Press Championship. The Association President also expressed his desire to organise State and National Powerlifting Championship in the city.

Association members including Sangh Patron Viston Lal, Jagdeesh Rajak, Lalita John, Secretary S Tandelu, Ma Singh and others have extended greetings towards the players. Both the players are training at Robin Health Club under the guidance of Roshan Singh.
