BJP proved its strength in four Municipal Councils in Katangi, Majholi, Patan and Shahpura, on Wednesday. Total 198 candidates were in fray for total 59 out of 60 wards and one candidate was unanimously elected in ward number-5 in Shahpura Municipal Council.
Besides this, 40 candidates of BJP emerged winners and only 10 candidates of Congress registered their victory and 9 independent candidates won the election.
Right from start of counting of votes, on Wednesday morning, BJP workers started celebrating lead of their candidates which continued till the end of counting of votes.
Vote counting in Ward Number-14 in Patan witnessed nail-biting moments as BJP candidate Mahendra Singh registered victory by a margin of just two votes. Counting of votes for 15 wards in Patan Municipal Council was held in which BJP candidates emerged winner in 14 wards while only 3 candidates of Congress and one independent candidates were elected.
Similarly, in 15 wards of Shahpura Municipal Council, total 11 BJP candidates won elections while three independent candidates and one Congress candidate were elected. In Majholi Municipal Council, total nine candidates of BJP registered their victory out of total 15 wards, while four Congress candidates and two independent candidates were elected. In 15-wards of Majholi Municipal Council, nine BJP candidates were winners while three independent and two Congress candidates were elected. The district administration and police administration made adequate arrangements to maintain law and order during counting of votes in four municipal councils.
Additional police force was deployed and combined teams of senior police and administrative officers conducted regular patrolling to monitor law and order arrangements at counting centres.
MLA, Patan, Ajay Vishnoi along with party workers congratulated winning candidates and expressed their gratitude for keeping faith on BJP by ensuring victory of its candidates. He assured that the winning party candidates will continue pace of development works and provide necessary assistance to needy in their respective areas.
