THE inter-college sports events of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University for the session 2022-23 will begin in first week of September, informs Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Sports and Physical Education Department, RTMNU, through a press release.

Last date for confirming participation in the above mentioned tournaments is July 30, the release adds. Though the time-table for inter-university meet is not yet declared, those colleges that are interested in participating in the inter-college tournaments of RTMNU must send their entries along with the entry fees before the cut-off date.

In the first stage, the Sports and Physical Education Department will conduct 37 sports disciplines and letter regarding the same has been despatched by the department. Entry fees for the sports that have been included since 2019-20 will be decided at a later date and the department will inform accordingly.

In the letter sent to the colleges, it has been clearly mentioned to send separate entries for men and women 21.097km half marathons, men’s 20km walk and women’s 5km walk. Students between the age of 17 and 25 will be able to participate in these inter-college events.

Those players who actually take to field in any sport will get ten grace marks while those players who make it to podium (first, second or third) in individual or teams events will get 15 marks.

Those players who get selected for Maharashtra’s inter-varsity sports meet — Ashwamedh, western region inter-university sports championships, all India inter-university sports meets and Khelo India University Games will be awarded 25 marks.
