Minister Incharge of the district, Gopal Bhargava, while addressing the meeting of newly elected corporators of the party, on Friday said people of Jabalpur have reposed their trust in the party and its candidates, hence it is the bound duty cf Corporators to fulfilling people’s hopes.
He said the Bharatiya Janata Party has won more than 80 percent of urban bodies in Madhya Pradesh. Likewise, it has performed well in Municipalities and Municipal Councils. But, the party did not get success in the election of the Mayor in Jabalpur. Bhargava said the organization will review the reasons behind it.
He said the public has shown full faith in the BJP by giving their blessings to 44 Corporators. He asked newly elected Corporators to give priority to public problems and solve it by ensuring maximum participation in development of the city. The Minister In-charge said even though the party does not have Mayor in the Jabalpur Municipal Corporation, but we will cooperate fully in the development works and whatever support is needed at the government level.
Expressing views on the occasion, Member of Parliament, Rakesh Singh said in democracy, the post of Corporator is the most important post of public contact. Therefore he asked the newly elected party Corporators to go in public by becoming the face of the party and solve people’s problems.
MLA Ashok Rohani, Dr Jitendra Jamdar and others also addressed the meeting.
Those also present were Chairman of MP Text Book Corporation Shailendra Barua, former MLA Harendrajit Singh, former Mayor Sadanand Godbole and others.
