Reserve Bank of India, Bhopal office conducted a meeting for benefit of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) in the Town Hall.
General Manager, Reserve Bank of India, Bhopal H K Soni, welcomed participants and highlighted importance of MSME sector. He said MSME sector is not only a major source of employment generation but also contributes to growth of the economy. He also shed light on recent efforts at the policy level to address major challenges for MSME sector such as delayed payments, non-availability of adequate credit etc.
Soni said TReDS platform has proved beneficial for entrepreneurs. He also discussed various facilities being provided to MSME units through banking channels to protect small units from the outbreak of Covid pandemic. He urged the bankers and entrepreneurs to work together to eliminate the issues and challenges faced by MSMEs in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Senior officials of State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Union Bank of India, Indian Bank, Canara Bank also shared their invaluable experiences. Apart from the sessions on RBI guidelines, FX Retail and TReDS, interactive sessions were also held during the meeting. Various questions were raised by the entrepreneurs in the session, which were resolved by a panel of senior executives of the banks. Sudhir Kesarwani, Assistant General Manager, Reserve Bank of India conducted proceedings of programme.
