Chandrakiran, Rashmi Manindra Agnihotri, Vidya Chourasia and Jyoti Thakur have been elected as Presidents of Jabalpur (Bargi), Sihora, Majholi and Patan Janpad Panchayats, on Wednesday.

Elections of Janpad Panchayat Presidents were held during three-tier Panchayat elections amidst high speculations and unrest amongst political workers and supporters. Election process was completed amidst tight security arrangements under the supervision of District Election Officer and Collector, Dr. Ilayaraja T (IAS) and Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna (IPS). SDMs were appointed as presiding officers in different areas include SDM, Sihora, Ashish Pandey, SDM Jabalpur, PK Sengupta (Bargi), SDM Patan, Shahid Khan and Deputy Collector Megha Pawar monitored the election process. In next phase of three level Panchayat Elections, election of President and Vice-president of Janpad Panchayat Kundam, Panagar and Shahpura will be carried out under Three-tier Panchayat Elections in the district on July 28 from 12 noon.
