NCL establishes two new milestones

Northern Coalfields Limited, the Singrauli-based Subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has established two new milestones in its endeavour to energize the nation. Fuelling the need of power sector amid the steep rise of coal demand, NCL dispatched 3.83 lakh tonnes, the highest amount of dry fuel in a single day since the inception of the company.
In another milestone, The company dispatched 4.14 lakh tonnes of Coal on Thursday which is the highest coal dispatch of a single day in FY 2022-23, also the second-the highest ever coal dispatch of a day since inception.
Accentuating the stellar performance, CMD NCL Bhola Singh congratulated all fellow miners of the company and stated that it is the tireless efforts of team NCL which are bolstering new records. He once again insisted for the safety, environmental, and quality first approach during mining coal in the best interest of the energy aspiration of the nation.
Catering to the nation’s ever-growing energy demand in the post COVID era, NCL has dispatched 33.54 MT of Coal to powerhouses in the current fiscal. NCL has dispatched 36.89 Million Tonnes of Coal to all its consumers with whooping 20.30% y-o-y growth. Both figures of Coal dispatches are more than the assigned targets till date.
In FY 2022-23 NCL has produced 34.75 Million Tonnes of Coal till date with splendid yearly growth of 25.26%. NCL sent 102 Coal rakes on Thursday which includes 42 Indian Railway rakes for coal consumers and 60 rakes for pit head power plants through dedicated Merry-Go-Round mode.
Miniratna conglomerate of Coal India Limited has been beating the coal production targets for years. In the Last fiscal Year, 2021-22 NCL dispatched more than 110 MT of Coal to Power Houses, about 90 percent of its total dispatch of FY 21-22.
The company has supplied more than sufficient coal to its dependent powerhouses and robust stock is available on them. The company has completed its major monsoon projects for unhindered coal production and dispatch during the rainy season. Producing coal from its 10 fully mechanized open cast mines in Singrauli and Sonbhadra District, NCL has been entrusted with 122 Million Tonnes of Coal production and dispatch in the current fiscal.
