Janhavi Kadu, daughter of Vilay and Vaishali Kadu, has been selected in the Indian team for the Inline Speed Skating World Skate Games 2022 to be held at Buenos Aries and San Juan in Argentina in October, 2022.
Janhavi, a student of Dharampeth Science College and registered skater of Nagpur District Roller Skating Association (NDRSA), has participated in State Championship under the Skating Association of Maharashtra and School Games Federation of India (SGFI). Janhavi has also represented Maharashtra in seven roller skating nationals under the Roller Skating Federation of India (RSFI) in various Speed Inline Skating National Championships where she won three national medals and. She has also been a national champion in skating.
A fine skater, Janhavi has participated in State championship on ten occasions and has won 12 gold, eight silver and three medals.
Recently she represented Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University at the All India Inter-University Championship and has won one gold and two silver medals.
Janhavi has been training under Sachin Singh from Haryana (national champion) along with guidance from Dr Upendra Varma, mother Vaishali and Dr Rahul Kalode who is sports incharge at Dharampeth Science College.
NDRSA will be felicitating Janhavi in coming days.
Baba Deshpande and Sunil Shirsikar, founder member President Shabbir Vali, Chairman Anil Bobde, Vice-President Adv Sachin Sambre, Dr Upendra Varma, Secretary, NDRSA, Swapnil Samarth Treasurer, and others congratulated Janhavi for her achievement and wished her luck for the event.
