“Your business grows when your customer base grows. The ultimate objective of any business is to increase revenue i.e. profit but at the same time needs and demands of customers should taken care on priority,” said Lead Auditor and Six Sigma expert Sanjay Bhure.
He was addressing the Sunday ‘Augment’ session organised by Vidarbha Management Association (VMA) at Chitanvis Centre, Civil Lines, Nagpur. He shared insights on the topic of ‘Lean Six Sigma for MSME Industry and Business Leader’. He said, “There is nothing wrong with doing business in a legitimate way. But one should be able to combine the needs of the customer while making profit”.
Explaining the topic to the audience, Bhure said, “Audit is a continuous, day-to-day process. Audit is useful only if frequent mistakes could be avoided due to it”. He stressed on identifying the defects and timely correction of the same.
“It is a misconception that Six Sigma techniques’ are only used for big manufacturers and entrepreneurs. In order to survive in the competition, it is seen that we tend to stock up on unnecessary products without need. Unnecessary expenditure on transportation, processing of goods happens when not required. This increases the production value of the product. Therefore, ‘lean’ process is now being implemented in the field of industry. Lean means prioritising customer needs while providing a product or service without compromising quality,” he pointed out.
“The main objective behind lean approach is to reduce the waste while making proper use of available manpower and resources. If you are able to strike this balance then the profit will definitely increase. It is an unwritten rule that no change is easily digested. So change may take time but the results are timeless, he said.
Earlier in the session, the augment tip was shared by Prasanna Dani on ‘Benefits of data storage on cloud.’
