RAHUL Brothers Football Club, Siraspeth pipped Youth Academy Football Club 2-1 to move into third round of the Aai Kusum Sahare Memorial Football Tournament under way at Reshimbagh ground, on Wednesday.

Rahul Brothers’ Chaitanya Khobragade scored opening goal in the fourth minute of play. Youth Academy’s Manav Dandewar (48th) levelled scores in the second half. But two minutes later Tanay Aher stored lead for the winners.

Baba Football Club of Mominpura, riding on a couple of goals from Salman Ansari (4th, 42nd) and one from Mohsin Ansari (40th) blanked Panchashil Sporting, Kamptee 3-0.

In a closely fought match, Young Haider FC, Pili Nadi edged past Ramtek’s Star Boys FC 6-5 via penalty shoot-out. At the end of regulation time, the teams were locked two each.

For Haider, Solaman Peter (35th) and Ziya Quazi (49th) found back of the net while Star Boys’ Vijay Admache (56th) and Sandip Rautel (60th) managed to wipe off a 2-0 lead. In the tie-breaker, Haider’s Peter, Abdul Gafoor, Imtiyaz Sheikh and Shahbaz Qureshi scored while for the losing side Arjun Rautel, Sandip and Abhishekh Kathoute beat the goalkeeper. In other matches, Unique FC, Mominpura and Harshita FC, Gumbo Mines registered victories
