3 accused held for attacking petrol pump staffers, cops

Police have succeeded in apprehending the three accused involved in attacking employees of petrol pump for demand of money and policemen within 24-hours of the incident was reported, on Thursday. The arrested have been identified as Rahul Kuchbandhiya (30), son of Heeralal Kuchbandhiya, resident of behind Tel Mill in Ghampur, Ankur Kori (19), son of Kamlesh Kori, resident of near country-made liquor shop in Sheetalamai area and a 17-year-old boy. The accused were produced before the court and were sent in judicial custody.
Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna (IPS) has said that any person could not be escaped and will be punished for misbehaving or attacking the policemen.
According to Ghamapur police, in the intervening night of August 9 and 10, a man named Sunil Pasi (45), a resident of Tadikhana in Sheetalamai area lodged a complaint that at around 12:45 he was at near Gopi petrol pump where Babil Kuchbandhiya, Raj Kuchbandhiya and Ankul Kori reached at petrol pump and started threatening the employees on tip of knife for demand of Rs. 2,000 for purchasing liquor . He reached the spot and objected the miscreants when they attacked him and he sustained injury near his eye. They also attacked the workers named Atul, Ayush and an elderly woman. They injured were rushed at hospital.
Ghamapur police had registered a case under Sections 327, 294, 324, 506 and 34 of IPC. Taking prompt action on the complaint, Sub Inspector, Yogendra Singh and Constable, Deepak Narvariya who were deployed for maintaining law and order arrangements during MOharram festival started a search for the miscreants and managed to arrest one of them Babil Kuchbandhiya. They took him at police station where relatives of accused were staging ruckus and blaming the police. Meanwhile, Babil Kuchbandhiya attacked on policemen and managed to escape from the police custody. In the attack, policemen SI, YOgendra and SI, Dilip Mishra sustained multiple injuries.
Taking a serious note into the case, police started a rigorous search and succeeded in apprehending the three accused and produced them before the court where they were sent in judicial custody.
Ghamapur police have registered case against the accused under Sections 147, 149, 353, 332 adn 294 of IPC. In further investigation, police learnt that the arrested Babil Kuchbandhiya and Rahul Kuchbandhiya and Ankul Kori are habitual criminals and were booked in around 9 sensitive cases of murder, attempting murder, money extortion, attack, Explosive Act and Arms Act.
