IN FIRST match of the Aai Kusum Sahare Memorial Football Tournament that went to sudden death stage, Wardha’s Roshu Academy pipped Reshimbagh Football Club 7-6 in the event in progress at Reshimbagh ground, on Thursday.
After a goalless regulation time, it was time for the penalty shoot-outs.
One after one, players from both the teams kept on scoring until a Reshimbagh striker faltered.
For the winners, Ronald Rampure, Simand Rakshe, Irfan Khan, Rajat Thakur, Subhod, Murli Mani and Sagar Karti slotted the soccer ball home while Reshimbagh’s Karan, Mahesh, Steven, Rodriques, Kunal and Swapnil managed to beat the rival goalkeeper on six occasions.
In a one-side second round match, SFC, Omkar Nagar blasted four goals past Shanti Nagar outfit Team Soul 4-0.
Navin Kaithwas (16th), Sunil Choudhari (31st), Emaneul Pal (42nd) and Devesh (45th) scored the goals.
In a fast-paced close encounter, Mangalwari Football Club edged past Shiv Shivam FC, Telangkhedi 2-1.
Mangalwari’s Abhishekh Kanojiya (36th) and Yash Chande (47th) recorded their names of the scoresheet while Charchit Chakole (54th) managed to pull back one for the losers.
Deep Warriors FC, Ajni and Saify FC, Mominpura’s match was decided via the tie-breaker which the former won 6-4.
After Deep Warriors’ Shanwaz Yadav’s 57th goal cancelled out Hassan Ansari’s opening goal scored in 45th minute of play, the match was ended 1-1 at the regulation time.
In the ensuing tie-breaker, Warriors’ Vasu Rao, Shanwaz Yadav, Amir Joseph, Lazrus Sharma and Aman Thawre made their shot count. For the losing team Sufiyan Ansari, Hassan Ansari and Atir Ansari converted their spot kicks.
Shamim Traders, Mominpura and Trible United, Kandri Mines played a goalless match in the stipulated time. In the tie-breaker, Shamim Traders recorded 4-2 win.
Fro the winners, Zulfekar Ansari, Huzif Ansari, Saif Ather and Mujahid Ansari found back of the net while Trible’s only Vishal Rautel and Oman Kathoute could score.
