RAIPUR,
LOOKING at the limited number of Sainik Schools across the country, the Union Ministry of Defence is planning to set-up Sainik Schools in different states across the country.
While talking to the media persons, State Education Minister of Assam Ranoj Pegu informed that his main objective of visiting Chhattisgarh was focused on opening Sainik School in State. The Defence Ministry has already planned for setting-up of 100 Sainik schools in the initial stage in partnership mode. These schools will provide
quality education based on National Education Policy which will help students in preparation for National Defence Academy and for better career opportunities.
Meanwhile, Ministry of Defence has already given approval for setting-up of 21 new Sainik Schools out of the initially proposed 100 in partnership with NGOs, trusts and State Governments. These new Sainik Schools, besides their affiliation to respective education boards will function under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society strictly following the Rules and Regulations for new Sainik Schools in partnership mode prescribed by the Society.
The Assam State Education Minister Ranoj Pegu said, “It will be the prerogative of the State gGovernment and the private partners where to set-up Sainik Schools in the State. But, among the several major criteria, the new school should have CBSE curriculum, armed force curriculum which will include physical, sports and weapon training. Even, NGOs can independently open Sainik Schools strictly following the tough criteria”.
On being questioned about the severe impact of online education during the two-years of pandemic, the Education Minister said that though there was negative impact on the academics, education and working mode is transforming fast into digitisation globally.
“The hybrid model of academics should be adopted focusing on the future prospect which should include both offline and online classes. This will enable the students to be well versed with both options”, said Assam Education Minister.
Minister also visited the Cardinal Warrior Military School at Mana in Raipur. While praising the greenery and existing good weather, the minister said he is impressed with the developments here.
