Centre Point School Dabha Under-17 girls team clinched their maiden football title while the Katol Road’s boys team and St John’s High School’s Under-14 boys won the crowns during the Subroto Cup tournament being organised by District Sports Office at Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur.

In the girls’ final, CPS Dhaba defeated their Wardhaman Nagar branch mates 3-0. Prince Singh, Mahi Puri and Adhyay Dvivedi were the scorers. In Under-17 boys final, CPS, Katol got the better of St Vincent Pallotti School 3-1 via tie-breaker after both the teams failed to break the deadlock.

In the shoot-out, Ved Bhatia, Jaiman Mehta and Debachit Patnaik scored for the winners while Dhripresh Hatwar scored for Pallotti. In the Under-14 boys’ final, St John’s High School defeated Centre Point School, Dabha by a solitary goal. It was Ojas Sirsat who gave the Mohan Nagar based school an early lead in the third minute of play.

St John’s boys, coached by Savio Andrew, then did well to thwart CPS from scoring.

The divisional level meet begins Saturday.
