Owing to the predictions of rainfall on Independence Day, for the first time, a water-proof tent has been set up at the Lal Parade Ground for the people.

In the midst of the possibility of rainfall, this time there is also an expectation of crowd gathering at the main I-Day programme, so the administration has made arrangements to deal with rains. These tents have been set up in an 800x800 square feet area throughout the ground. Apart from this, a team of more than 25 people of PWD is working to fill the pits in the field. After every shower, dust is being poured here again and again, so that the soldiers do not face any problem during the parade. Apart from this, works like dyeing, painting and maintenance are also going on. A team of 25 people has been deployed to completely clean the ground before the Independence Day celebrations. They have been given two vehicles. Along with sweeping the entire ground, strict arrangements are being made to ensure that the garbage is not lying here and there. Within half-an-hour post-celebrations, the ground get cleaned: BMC AHO Yogesh Dubey said that the garbage dumped by the crowd after the event would also be immediately picked up and within half-an-hour the ground would again become dazzling. Due to corona pandemic, Independence Day was being organised formally for the last two years. After 2 years the old charm will return. The participation of common people is likely to be more in this event to be held on the occasion of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. In-charge Divisional Commissioner Maal Singh has asked to complete all the preparations by Friday 12th August so that full dress rehearsal can be done on August 13. Invitation sent to Freedom Fighters: Every year the administration invites freedom fighters and democracy fighters (Loktantra Senani) to the event. According to the list available with the administration, now no freedom fighter is alive in Bhopal, so democracy fighters living in Bhopal i.e. those who fought against the Emergency have also been invited.
