Life came to a halt in the State capital as it has been raining continuously for two days.
About 6 inches of rain was recorded on Monday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In the last 36 hours, 16 inches more rain has been recorded. District Collector Avinash Lavania has declared holiday has been declared for schools in Bhopal on Tuesday. Eight gates of Kerwa and 13 gates of Kaliasot dams have been opened.
At least 100 people are trapped in Kolhua Kalan village located near Govindpura Industrial Area. This village is located in Govindpura Industrial, opposite Uma Bihar Colony. Here the houses are filled with water up to 5 feet and there is no power in the area. People allege that they have been calling for help since morning, but to no avail.
Earlier, the Indus Empire in Bawdia Kalan area was flooded with water. 18 families were trapped in 40 houses here due to the submergence of the first floor of many houses.
A tree fell on the bike rider near Tarun Pushkar, due to which he died on the spot. More than half of the city's electricity is out from overnight. TT Nagar police station in-charge Chain Singh Raghuvanshi said that the deceased has been identified as Akbar, a resident of South TT Nagar. At present, it is not clear whether the tree fell on the bike while riding on the bike or whether he was standing under the tree.

So far this season, Bhopal has received more than 56 inches of rain. The season’s rainfall quota in the city is 42 inches.
Water filled in more than 200 colonies: The State capital’s Kolar is the most water-logged. More than 50 shops in Lalita Nagar and Nayapura have been flooded by one to two feet. Bawdia Kalan, Danishkunj, Mandakini, Shahpura, Karaund, Bhanpur, Shivnagar Chhala, Aishbagh, Chandbad Bajaria, Ashoka Garden, Tila Jamalpura, Mahamai Ka Bagh, Jagdishpur, Islamnagar, Aikkhedi, Patel Nagar, Anand Nagar, Misrod, Bagsevania, Bagh Mughalia, Water has entered houses in more than 200 colonies including Danish Nagar, Arera Colony, Nehru Nagar, Gomti Colony, Indrapuri, Aakriti Eco Green City, Nilbabad, Ratibad. Due to the deteriorating condition here, many people are shifting to another place.
House collapsed in Bhopal, van stuck in front of Academy of Administration A van got stuck in two to three feet of water in front of the Academy of Administration. Mobile network of many companies shut: Telecommunication companies have also been affected by heavy rains along with the storm. On Monday morning, suddenly the mobile networks of many companies disappeared. Customers continued to suffer as phone and internet services were disrupted.
Power failure in half the city: In more than 200 areas including Kolar, Chola, Ashoka Garden, Hoshangabad Road, Avadhpuri, Karond, Shivnagar, Bairagarh, Neelbad, Ratibad, Ayodhya bypass, there was power failure due to thunderstorm and rain. In Kolar's Mandakini, Wheatkheda, Nayapura, there was power failure since 9 in the morning. According to the power company, the power infrastructure in the state has been damaged due to the overnight rains. The entire power staff is involved in resuming the power supply. In the midst of heavy rains and floods, they are trying to restore power supply.
The electricity of the Municipal Corporation’s Disaster Management Control Room, which was closed from around 11 pm on Sunday night, resumed at 1 pm on Monday. During this, the computer's UPS got discharged. Due to this the team engaged in disaster management had to face a lot of trouble. The computer operator present in the control room said that from Sunday to Monday afternoon, about 150 complaints were received. There have been complaints of most trees falling in this. The control room has received information about waterlogging from 15 places.
About 16 inches of rain in 36 hours in Bhopal: Bhopal received more than 4 inches of rain in 12 hours from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm on Sunday. After this, the rainfall continued till night. By 5:30 in the morning it had rained 5.8 inches. At the same time, from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm on Monday, there was about 6 inches of rain. In this way, the city has received 16 inches of rain in the last 36 hours. The season’s rainfall quota in Bhopal is 42 inches, but it has received 65 inches of rain so far. Talking about 2016, there was 56.58 inches of rain in the season, which is a record. This record was broken by Monday morning. Earlier in 2006, Bhopal had received 67.45 inches of rain. There are 38 days left for monsoon.
