Speaking truth may hurt him, so all he does is lie all the time, said Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chhattisgarh State In-charge D Purandeshwari while refuting the unemployment data released by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

In a press conference on Tuesday, D Purandeshwari wished Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on his birthday before giving a sharp rejoinder on his impolite remarks on BJP Regional Organisation General Secretary Ajay Jamwal. D Purandeshwari said it’s very unbecoming of Chief Minister to derisively twist the name of Ajay Jamwal.

D Purandeshwari also said we all know Bhupesh Baghel Government made 36 promises while taking an oath with gangajal in hand. But the CM hasn’t fulfilled a single promise, be it unemployment allowances to 10 lakh youths or the unemployment allowances.

Contesting the data unemployment data given by Chhattisgarh Government, D Purandeshwari said they demand a white paper on unemployment and employment figures in Chhattisgarh. Had the government actually given Rs 2,500 monthly unemployment allowances to the youths, it would have amounted to around Rs 12,000 crore. Chief Minister had promised employment at each home, so how many families have got a job to date, she asked. D Purandeshwari said the sample size of just 23,000 collected by a private company to survey the unemployment rate was too small. Hence, the data is unreliable. If the employment data furnished by Chhattisgarh Government was really true then why would there be 2.25 lakh applications for 90 posts, she asked. D Purandeshwari claimed that the state recorded 20000 suicides in three years, half of whom were young people. One youth recently committed suicide in Janjgir and another girl killed herself in Korba. A recent newspaper report revealed that 88 per cent of youths consider unemployment a big issue in the state. D Purandeshwari also alleged the Chief Minister of attempting to foil their demonstration by stopping buses carrying BJP workers and scaring journalists. She claimed journalists in Bastar say they are pressurized to capitulate to the state government. BJP used to organise Job Fair and release a calendar on jobs every year during its tenure, but Congress did no such thing, D Purandeshwari added.
