WITH the directives of District Administration and Police Department, Public Work Department (Bridge Section), Durg officials are initiating measures for creating parking space within flyover spans at Supela and Power House in Bhilai. As per the PWD authorities in accordance of the directives they are initiating necessary measures, but it will be mainly depending upon public response and expected utilisation of parking spaces.

According to the information District Collector, Pushpendra Meena and Superintendent of Police (SP), Dr Abhishek Pallawa along with the officials and personnel personally inspected the areas recently and directed PWD officials regarding measures for provisions for parking space in these locations. It is with the objectives to avoid traffic jams in major markets of Bhilai and sparing people from undue inconvenience. It needs a mention that usually during peak hours long jams are notices in main lanes of Supela markets and Power House markets in Bhilai and situation turns grim during festive seasons. The measures for parking spaces will certainly check long queues of vehicles at markets roads and also spare people from undue troubles. As per information total eight parking spaces will be created within two piers (pillars) including two each side of crossings under flyovers at Supela and Power House in Bhilai.

Amitabh Soni, Superintending Engineer (Bridge Section), PWD each parking space will be specious with about 30X18 meters in size and with provision of railings and entrances for facilitating commuters. Initially one parking space at each side of crossings under flyovers will be created at both places and measures for additional parking spaces will be depending upon public response and expected utilisation of parking spaces. He also added that the protection wall around piers will also be constructed for protecting flyovers.
