RAIPUR,
Chhattisgarh Congress has termed Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that ‘Naxalism will end in a pinch as soon as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in Chhattisgarh- as ‘irresponsible’ and ‘objectionable’.
In his statement, State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla said that Amit Shah’s such statement is irritating the people of Chhattisgarh. “If Amit Shah had power in his pinch, then why he is waiting to end Naxalism and who has stopped him from doing it,” Shukla questioned.
Amit Shah’s statement was irresponsible and objectionable and his statement will break the morale of the security forces fighting against the Naxalites by putting their lives at risk in Naxal affected areas of State, he added.
The Union Home Minister can solve the country’s biggest internal Naxal problem in a pinch. But he is not executing it because he is waiting for his party to form the next Government in State.
Amit Shah has a remedy to eliminate Naxalism but he keeps it hidden. It’s a matter of grave concern that such statement has come from the Home Minister of the country who took the oath of the Indian constitution, the State Congress Media Chief alleged. In Chhattisgarh, during the 15 years rule of the previous BJP Government, Naxalism had spread from 3 blocks to 14 districts. After the formation of the Congress Government in the state in 2018, the Naxal incidents have come down by 80 per cent.
Sushil Anand Shukla added that this decrease has become possible due to the strong will power of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel Government to solve the Naxal problem. Chief Minister Baghel has won the trust of people living in the Naxal area. Various welfare works are being carried out in the Naxal affected areas of State. The Naxalites are on the back foot in State today due to the welfare policies of the Congress Government, Sushil Anand Shukla added.
